Healthy Communities of the Capital Area (HCCA) is a coalition of local people who work locally to improve the health and quality of life in our communities. HCCA is the Local Healthy Maine Partnership for the communities it serves.

A healthy community is one that provides for the basic needs of all its members. It is a place where people come together to make the community better for themselves and their neighbors. It is also a process in which local people work together on local issues they care about. Becoming part of the Maine's New Public Health Infrastructure HCCA is also part of a statewide system of Comprehensive Community Health Coalitions (CCHC) throughout Maine.
